An independent field manual for Main Sequence
Main Sequence Guide is a fan-operated editorial project about the space factory sim, built to be useful before launch without pretending the game is finished.
- Independent
- Unofficial
- Source-first

Official game imagery is used for editorial illustration. Site design and written analysis are original.
Why this site exists
Main Sequence is a game about turning a single mining ship into an industrial network. The information around it is scattered across a store page, developer announcements, patch notes, demo builds, community threads and videos. Our job is to collect the verifiable parts, explain the game in plain English and mark the blanks.
The site is not affiliated with Tumbling Dumpling Studio, Mythwright or Valve. It is not an official wiki, and it does not speak for the developer. It is also not a review: we do not claim to have completed a build that is not public.
What we prioritize
- Accuracy over speed. When a detail is unconfirmed, the page says so. We do not turn an estimate into a fact to fill a table.
- Useful pages over page count. A missing character database is better than invented characters. A missing recipe list is better than an invented calculator.
- Independence. No developer payment changes a verdict, a label or a recommendation. Advertising, when enabled, is separated from editorial content.
- Maintenance. The demo and launch build will change. Pages carry a last-checked date, and the update log is tied to official sources.
How the content is made
We use a combination of manual research, source comparison and AI-assisted drafting. The drafting process helps organize large amounts of public information; it is not treated as a source. Claims are checked against the links in each page’s source log. Any first-hand play impression or community-tested finding is labelled as such.
We do not claim to have playtested a build we have not played. Where a step comes from a community report—for example, the station-power workaround in the demo—the page explicitly marks it as community-tested and links to the report.
Editorial independence
Any future advertising is technical infrastructure, not editorial direction. Ad placements are labelled, and they do not influence source selection or page conclusions. If the site adds an affiliate link, it will be disclosed. We do not accept payment for a positive review or a guaranteed placement.
Images and trademarks
Screenshots are official Steam/press media, copyright Tumbling Dumpling Studio and Mythwright, used for editorial commentary and illustration. The site does not use the official game logo as its own mark; the field-guide mark, layouts, charts and written material are original to this project.
What comes next
After the Early Access build is public, the priorities are to verify the launch state, rebuild the database from stable in-game data, and add pages only where the game provides real entities: ships, modules, resources, locations or systems. We will not publish empty route variants to chase keywords.
If a source link is wrong, a mechanic changed, or a detail is mislabelled, send the page URL and a verifiable source to editor@mainsequenceguide.wiki. Corrections are more important than defending a draft.
